Hold on tight as the action and thrills accelerate. It’s the third book in the River series, continuing from the end of River Deep.
A call for help takes River to Costa Rica, where an injured ex-Force Recon Captain is being threatened.
An extract from River Pacifico….”Closing the rear hatch, River returned to the driver’s seat and rereleased the handbrake and gearbox. He coasted down the hill for about fifty yards and started the vehicle. Keeping just the sidelights on, he drove slowly down the hill to the Shambala Productions compound, where he drove straight through the locked gates and smashed them to the sides of the entrance.
River pulled the Toyota up by the burnt-out remains of one of the buildings, stopped, and jumped out. He went to the back, opened the hatch, and then pulled the body out. Dragging the man to the driver’s door, he put the body in the driver’s seat.
He pulled two gasoline cans out of the back of the vehicle and emptied the contents all over the four men and the interior. He returned the empty cans to the vehicle’s rear and took one of the road flares.
Closing all of the doors, River stood back and pulled the tab on the road flare, it burst in flame in his hands. He took one last look around and tossed the flare under the vehicle. Turning, he left the broken gates and started back up the hill.
River could see the light from the flames for the first hundred yards, and then the remaining gasoline cans in the rear of Toyota exploded, and the fire shot up above the trees. He carried on up the hill, and he could see the fire all of the way back up. He tossed the FN automatic into the jungle about halfway up.
Whoever these people were, their intentions had crossed a line with River that night. They were walking dead now; they just did not know it.“
